Simon Mensah
With over 20 years of clinical social work experience, I have supported individuals, couples, and families through some of the most challenging moments of their lives. My work spans hospital settings, community mental health, and family services, giving me a deep understanding of complex mental health needs and the many ways people cope, adapt, and heal.
I have extensive experience working with concerns such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, schizophrenia, PTSD, concurrent disorders, and substance use. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence based practice. I focus on helping clients feel understood, supported, and empowered to make meaningful change whether they are navigating trauma, relationship challenges, identity shifts, grief, or ongoing stress.
My therapeutic style integrates Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Narrative Therapy, trauma informed practice, crisis intervention, and strengths based approaches. I draw on years of frontline clinical work to meet clients where they are and help them move toward where they want to be.
I hold a Master of Social Work from Wayne State University, specializing in Clinical Social Work, and an Honours Bachelor of Social Work from Lakehead University. I have completed post graduate training in CBT, Narrative Therapy for Addiction and Trauma, Refugee and Forced Migration Issues, Non Violent Crisis Intervention, Trauma Informed Care, and Crisis Intervention/Prevention
